Kanniyakumari, formerly known as cape comorin, is a town in the state of Tamil Nadu. The name derived from the Devi Kanya Kumari temple in the region. The place is surrounded by Majestic Hills and the plains bordered by colourful sea-shores, fringed with coconut trees and paddy field. Kanyakumari has been a town since Sangam period and its a popular tourist destination in India.
